Cebu to Ho Chi Minh...which OW Carrier?

Have the choice of flying Cathay or Malaysian one way business award ticket from Cebu, Phillipines to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. I am OW Emerald so have access to first class lounge in either KL or HK...how do they compare and is there a difference in business class seats on Malaysian compared to Cathay? Also has anyone had experience with getting AA AWARD ticket originating in the Phillipines..apparently it has to be issued in the phillipines! Any advice..
