CBA cuts QFF points

so I have NAB platinum and ANZ Black and they no longer accept ATO payments and have introduce caps on points and reduced rates ..... so what is the answer here?

When did NAB Platinum introduce a cap on points earn? As far as I know it's still 1.5 pts on Amex and 0.5 on the Visa.

Time for Bankwest!
It is a CBA business name.

If the World goes to 0.66 per $, how useless are the Platinum and Gold QF cards going to be?

I'm hoping bankwest don't cut further. They nerfed the platinum MC go 0.75 just after I joined. If it wasn't for the free upgrade to world I would have left.

Still not bad value at 0.75c/pt. What other MC/VISA QF awards card has no FX charges?

I would say the World will be getting a haircut in the near future. I would not be surprised that it will drop to 0.75c/pt and the platinum will drop to 0.5-0.6c/pt. I will still keep the World unless it goes lower than 0.66c/pt.

BW World is apparently dropping to $1 = 0.66 and the interest-free days reduced down to 44, according to a friend of mine who has the card. Haven't heard the commencement date for this yet or what's happening with the other tiers.

BW changes are 20th June for Platinum and World I saw from a post on another forum. World goes to 0.66 and Platinum to 0.5 QF points per dollar.

Well I'm closing mine. The interest free day stinginess is like a giant stuff you to customers.

A good earning no forex card was good while it lasted.

BW World can stay but Platinum is unlikely to survive the titanium bladed scissors.

I must of been psychic when I posted the above. I think 0.75c/pt is a better price point however.

I will keep the World as my annual fee is only AUD99pa. If I was paying the full fee it would be a different story versus the BW Platinum Zero.

I have the Diamond cards free on a wealth package and put a decent amount through the Amex each year (never touched the M/card), obviously not happy to see the reduction! I recently got the ANZ Black card for the promo points which still gives me a 1.5 point per $ option but thought I would call CBA to voice my displeasure and see how much they value my business (didn't bother to threaten to cancel as the cards are free anyway). It wasn't a completely worthless call as was offered and accepted 20000 points and a $50 credit to the account! So it's definitely worth talking to them, even if you intend to switch to a better earning card!

So I must admit I'm intrigued as to how this conversation goes. While I appreciate you didn't really want/need to close the account I do tend to see this as a call to action for the lender. Which then triggers the offers. Beyond not wanting to lose a customer am unsure what triggers offers.

Called the retention line (1800 067 729) and was offered 20k CBA points.

At first was told that I'm getting my diamond card at the platinum card rate and how that was special. I pointed out I get the card for free through the wealth package and that there's nothing "special" about that.

i suppose 10k qff points is bette rthan nothing but a little slap in the face
I currently pay 250 for my card

has anybody found the best alternatvie or is it one of those "you just gotta accept it" type situations

Actually, suspect its less than 10k QFF points with the "new and improved" conversion rates.

ANZ QF Black card seems to be the go for now. Fee free for the first year and 70k points sign-up bonus.

i see!

if the rewards points programs get to a point its so useless,

lets say need to spend $200k just to get one return economy trip to eu or $500k for return business trip, for example

im going to be devastated, scrouniging for points has been a hobby and passion since I was 18

I used to put all bills on it, when we went out as a group, I used to put the meals on my card (as long as everyone was ok with it)

when I a family meber bought a new car, I negotated to put a huge chunk of it on my card

its been a part of my daily life!!! :)

Don't change your habits, just change your card to suit your spending pattern :)

I think it's worth waiting to see what everyone does with their cards following the RBA changes before applying elsewhere - may end up moving and ending up with the same or worse deal (apart from sign up you might get).
