Cathay Seat Selection

Hi All,

I've booked a couple of Y seats (reasonable price comparitively) to Rome and beyond in November for SWMBO and myself on Cathay. When I go into Cathay's 'Manage my Booking' for seat selection I can select my seat (I'm QF SG) but can't select OH's seat. I thought this was odd so phoned Cathay and was told that because of my OW status I can pick mine but not the other until general seat selection at T-48. Any thoughts/experience on whether if I selected my seat (nicely at the front of Y) the system would 'automatically' allocate OH's seat to be next to me?

This seems strange to me. I know for a fact that TA's can select seats as the system takes the highest status and lets the agent select for all pax in the booking. Maybe call them again and hope you get someone else on the phone. If you booked through a TA they should be able to assist.

The Cathay website is weird for me too.
My booking did not show my QFF membership, but would allow me to select seats.
Even after adding in my QFF membership number, I was unable to see any new seats on my CX flights (stuck in 20D on an old 1-1-1 configuration regional flight).

Thanks Ozmillie and Zippy7. We booked it on-line so no TA but I think I'll try for another CSO on the phones tonight and see how I get on.

MikedOut, I can change our seats selection by clicking on seat then
seat/other services and selecting update. Booked the flights on the
Cathay Pacific website.
