I had a search but could only find reference to the Asiana lounge, and I used the Korean one on the way up.

Has anyone used the Cathay lounge? The CX website is not very forthcoming.

I'm assuming you're meaning at ICN? If so, yes.

Would I use it again, no. Head over to the JL Sakura, far better lounge, less people, great quality wifi, heaps of desks, better range of food IMHO - and same view of runway as the CX facility.

Also reminds me I'm still to post a TR covering these two lounges from last year.

Oh, so I can access a JL lounge (flying J with SG)? I don't travel in North Asia much.

Would be great to see a recent report on these. I might be passing through ICN myself soon. Seoul seems more of a destination for the Japanese tourist so not surprising CX doesn't win there.

If you're SG/Sapphire then you can access either regardless of class under oneworld rules.

The only thing is the JL lounge closes about 6pm so if you're on a late flight back to HKG then might be out of luck.

From oneworld website:
Cathay Pacific Lounge
Location details: Airside, Concourse A Departure Floor, 4/F
Opening hours: Daily: 06:30-10:20; 12:15-15:20; 17:00-20:00

Sakura Lounge
Location details: Satelite Concourse, Level 4
Opening hours: Daily: 06:45-18:10

Lunchtime until mid afternoon fortunately. In fact, CX probabbly won't be open when I arrive. Its just I have a long stay there between flights so I want to get comfortable.

ICN is a nice airport, it basically feels like a laarge shopping mall. Had hours in the Korean Air lounge a couple of weeks ago, it was fine and the staff were helpful, but F&B was dull and seating was a bit regimented. The shops in the airport are well regarded.

Damn didn't think about searching for the JL Lounge in ICN. I settled for the CX Lounge, mainly because I couldn't be stuffed to move (so, so tired).

The lounge itself is OK. Food to me wasn't a big deal because I was too tired to care. No showers; not sure if the JL Lounge has them. The OZ Lounge definitely has showers, but of course you can't access them if you fly oneworld.

And you were the one who reminded me about the JL Sakura when I was there last year. You must have been tired.

JL lounge is just across the hall isn't it?

Neither were particularly special, though the JL lounge is less busy and does have Asahi on tap.

You're right about the JL lounge being less busy. I flew from ICN-NRT earlier this year and was the only person on the F lounge area and then the only person in the J cabin. :)

I left the lounge at boarding time and went to the gate but they were running a couple of minutes late. I asked at the J boarding gate how long the delay would be and she had a quick look at my BP and said it would only be a couple of minutes.

Just before they called for boarding she came over to me and invited me to board. When I entered the J cabin and took my seat the staff fussed over me. I realised no one else was sitting in J and asked how many people were going to be in the cabin and was proudly informed that I was the only one.

Made for a pleasant flight with at least three FAs fussing over me.

I should post an update on my visit. Found the CX lounge after a transfer via Burger King. I didn't have my boarding pass, so needed to check in at the Lounge. That basically meant I stayed there. Food was OK, but glad I went to BK on the way. Had a nice coffee from my travelling aeropress. Internet was nice and fast, and the lounge filled up closer to the flight.

Lounge is fine, it's not cough star but it's adequate, biggest letdown no shower, however I will make up for that when I get to HKG

You can access the OZ lounge if you fly QF codeshare on OZ metal.
