I currently have a ticket HKG-SYD-HKG in Premium Economy (Sale fare).
Last week I went to make a change to the booking because I wanted to change the dates of my sectors. At the time, I was presented with the flight and fare options, and one of the options was to change the sectors to Business Class. I was able to see this on two separate days last week. I didn't make any changes to the ticket.
Today I went to do the same, and now I am only presented with Premium Economy options. I called the call centre and the guy said to me that it is not possible to upgrade (and pay fare difference) online, but had to be done over the phone. He was adamant this was the case, even though I had seen it with my own eyes.
Was he correct, and why would I have seen the Business options last week? Or is this just a temporary aberration in Manage My Booking and the J option will come back eventually?
