I'm trying to get 2 seats out of Perth to Turkey/Athens in September but without any luck. Does the group think I'd be better off trying Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane as a start point or Singapore or KL? Perth really is starting to feel like the end of the world :-(

Thanks

Plan B would be to purchase a cheap ticket to SIN or KUL and then use miles/points to get to Turkey. As the award tickets are priced as one way, you may find that availability on the return will get you all the way to PER.

Remember that not all (err most) airlines do not show online and a call to AA in the USA might be very useful.

Have you searched on the Qantas site which might show different airlines availability?? Or BA??

I've wondered about QF site for availability of other airlines rather than use the usual BA or JL etc.

Sorry I should of been clearer. Thats what my question meant. If I can't get out of Perth which of the East or West alternatives (basically domestic or international) would provide me with greater chance of picking up an award flight?

I'd suspect MH may have availability but you need to call as it can't be seen online .

MH seats are seen online on the BA.com site which shows the biggest number of OW airlines online out of all other OW search engines

MH has normally 1 J seat (I presume that's what you're after) on all flights out of Australia every day. Two J seats are very rare now

maybe QR too (which can be seen from the BA site)

maybe QR too (which can be seen from the BA site)

Wouldn't be able to use QR solely (unless you do two awards) as it transits another region - hopefully this gets assessed as it does seem ridiculous the most direct route is banned

Fred's option of a cheap flight Per-Sin is a goer - also another option would be cheap flight auh/doh -> Ist

Call AA. MH has direct flights KUL-IST 3 days/week MWSa just after midnight.
