Have stacks if QFF points cant find any J award seats Aug, Sept, Oct out of an OZ port as we want to try QSuites long haul, rather than with stopover or commence in ASIA, its annoying.

Qatar used to reliably release 2 seats every day on each of its flights at 361 days out. They were however snapped up within the day. There was a discussion on it here . QR award availability down to 219 days???

However in the last few months - release has been sporadic - sometimes single seats have been released, and I had decided thats what I would do , flying out of Sydney, I would put DH on the A380 flight that leaves in the evening and myself on the Q suites flight in the afternoon - we would have a wait of 5 hours in DOH for the other to catch up.
As it was I ended up booking 2 x F flights out of Perth - not quite what I had in mind, but looking forward to it immensely.

We found nothing out of Oz during July and back into Oz in early August despite checking at the release date and time and almost every day for weeks. As WP so full access. Gave up. Did book CX but then last week they started messing with flights and cancelled one of ours. It’s all very random now.

Out of AKL same, can go J out of DPS, HKG, BKK, KUL etc but shorter QR flights some don't have QSuite, will keep looking.

Similar story trying to get both in and out of Perth on QR. Have had to go via the SIN option.

My wife and I did PER>DOH in F last April and without a doubt it was a great use of QF points (IMHO). Sitting across a "table" from my wife having dinner and sipping on some good wines at 35,000 was something special. Also ensure you make use of the Al Safwa lounge at DOH which you will be able to use coming in on F. It's amazing!

Would like to try it, but no availability, or a Captain Cook route if there was.

Looks like they are rather stingy on award flights in J, pity we want to try the QSuites long haul 10hrs+

We ended up paying for it but not seated into the suites as I’m really not a fan of them. There used to be great availability but that dried up I’d say 9 months ago. I found by paying for economy on the short hop reduced the cost but it still hurt.

Oh yes, we are certainly looking forward to it - trying to work out how to time it - we are not used to being up and drinking wine that late - especially as it will be 2:00am Sydney time.
Also, sort of disappointed in the lounge offering in PER. Might have to have a nap instead. But the Al Safwa looks amazing.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
