Hi,
I am looking at a one-way flight from Melbourne to Stockholm (my return flight will be more than 12 months away so unable to book this return flight). By searching for a one-way ticket, it is about $1600 for a Economy Saver. By searching as a return flight, the cheapest to Stockholm flight is $1200 as Economy Saver. The return leg as a Economy Flex is $2000 - I have set the return date to Jan 2018 but I have no intention of taking this flight. Looking at the rules, I can cancel my return Flex ticket after I depart and I get a full refund (apart from a no-show). Has anyone done this before? Is there a catch I haven't seen? There may be a service fee of $60-80 I understand.
Thanks
