Cancelling 1pax from JASA/FASA

If I book a JASA/FASA (under fare conditions with no cancel fees) for 2pax(same booking) and the other pax can't make it, would there be any trouble cancelling just the one persons ticket, leaving my ticket? I would prefer them on the same PNR otherwise I could just make 2 separate bookings to start with.

a telephone call would see the booking split.

Then the single booking could be cancelled quite easily.
