Cancelled with QF. When does 12 months finish

Hello,

I've just had to cancel my o/s trip with QF. My agent says the ticket is still valid for use within 12 months from date of sale. If the date of sale was, lets say, 10 May 2012 could I start my travels on say 9 May 2013 and finish my holiday on say 9 June 2013. Or does all travel have to conclude before 10 May 2013.

Call QF to get clarification as I would think all travel needs to be completed by 10 May 2013.

If the travel agent tells you the wrong thing then you're up the creek minus a paddle.

So I just rang QF regarding my voucher, word from the good lady is for domestic travel, travel must be completed before the voucher expiry date. However if it's for international to call them before the expiry to book your upcoming international flight and they can use the voucher for it, as long as the booking is made before voucher expiry date, and travel is completed within 12 months after the vouchers expiry date

Are you sure about the information provided horseman?

I called recently about an international booking that I need to cancel and how to go about it and was told that I should cancel the current booking first and then when I am ready to book new flights to use the cancelled booking but travel must be completed before the expiry date of the voucher which for me happens to be mid-May 2013.

Anyway I guess there are always glitches in the system and not everything is applied to the letter of the terms and conditions each time.

maybe she set up something special for me..

FWIW, I was able to use a "Gift Voucher" purchased in December last year¹ to book international travel next March (online).
