QF have advised that my CX flight, booked using QF points, CNS-HKG has been cancelled. QF is offering me the same CX flight the following day. That does not really suit though if i have to I will live with it. Because of the limited frequency there is no earlier direct flight that suits. Before I speak to them, do I have a leg to stand on asking them to make it CNS-BNE-HKG on QF on the day I originally booked ?

Just check it really has been cancelled, maybe just look on the CX web site and see if CX are still taking bookings? When was your original CNS-HKG flight?

Definitely cancelled. For several weeks in March the frequency has been reduced to 3 from 4 with either the Wednesday or Thursday flight cancelled.

If your preference is to travel that specific day, I would be asking for a same day option - QF CNS-BNE-hkg or QF/CX BNE-sin-hkg.

"Worst" answer is no.

After consideration I've decided to go with the day's delay and accept the recommendation. I've rearranged my accommodation and plans in Hong Kong. Reasons - 7 hours on CX on a direct flight with a 1.00pm start is better than 14 hours on QF with a 5.30am start and a plane change when no earnings are involved.
