C class getting shoddy

Can't believe how much the long haul C product on NZ has gotten. Even UA has better hot towels than the disgusting ones NZ now uses.

AirNZ have severely cut costs on their premium services over the last eighteen months.

These days I'd reckon they'd charge for drinks in business if they could.

It's sad, I had some of my best J flights on NZ.
But recently I have been unable to find award seats, so won't be flying them in J in the near future anyway I guess...

I've noticed a serious decline in service standards and catering on Air NZ (only fly J).... What's going on??

They are edging towards my 'only fly if desperate' list now...

I have flown them they were ok not as good as QF.

My experience on the Trans-Tasman Widebody service has been quite the opposite, but I'm interested in your feedback nonetheless.

Quick couple of points from me but suggest you read Serftys thread as well.

- J catering is now abysmal, couple of my meals almost resembled Y class meals. Rock hard / stale bread, sloppy mush. Really average

- In general service has declined, staff used to be happy and friendly now are more often than not surly and short. Really weird. Air NZ used to have some of the best staff - up there with JetConnect!.

The whole experience just in general feels a little cheap and nasty now for me.

On trans tasman once, overheard a couple of the staff moaning about the Virgin tie up meaning all the 'bogans' now flew Air NZ!?! What's that about?
