Is it possible to buy your way into a QC for just one visit?

I'd gladly pay $50 or so to wait in the QC rather than at the gate... Especially when I have a few hours between flights.

No not possible. Only way is to have access through QC membership, QF Gold or QF Platinum or complimentary passes.

Someone on AFF may be able to assist you with a complimentary QC guest pass.

Actually we now have the numbers, and so individual applications are available to anyone interested. You'll need to get your signed and completed form to Clifford (Admin) by the coming Wednesday (1st August). If you're interested it will set you back $485 and I can forward the details to you via PM if you wish.

There is a company that advertises on this site that says you can access lounges in every city etc, for a price. Are they for real? If so they may be the way to go.

I'll stick with my QC membership, it does the job.

Probably PriorityPass: Priority Pass - 500 Airport Lounges Worldwide

To me, not really that great value (eg Cheapest is $US99 / year with $US24 per entry+ $US24 per guest, ranging up to US$399 for an annual pass for multiple visits + $US24 for a guest)

Both Qantas Club and Priority Pass have their benefits. The PriorityPass network is ok worldwide, but a bit weak in Australia (includes the Blue Room @ Virgin Blue in SYD,MEL,BNE and ADL, and Red Carpet Club at SYD Intl) but no other lounges in Australia. None in NZ that I can see.
