Hey all,

Looks like I'll be heading off to Europe this weekend for a couple of weeks for work. Been looking at some flights and over the weekend as I'll need to lock this in tomorrow. The plan at the moment is to head from Melbourne to London (would prefer LHR) and then catch a quick flight over to Rotterdam and then depart Amsterdam/Paris back to Melbourne. The London to Rotterdam flight will be in Y and this is all sorted but thought I'd get some advice from the experts on what options I should be looking out for the flight into London and out of Amsterdam/Paris.

Thinking of flying SQ but obviously the Amsterdam to Sin leg is on the 772. Anyone see any real issues with this? The remaining flights are on the A380 which would be nice to fly as I haven't been on the big bird yet. The other options that I've been considering are EK and CX however EK has no business class availability on their mel to dubai direct flight so if I went down this route it would be via SIN/KL. Looking at spending roughly 8.5K so would appreciate any thoughts on what you think my best options are?

Should also add that I'm not too fussed about points but will more than likely sign up with Agean to get the *A Gold which I should easily qualify for with this trip if I fly SQ. or use my USDM to credit the points to. Paris also gives me a lot more options like Etihad (credit to Velocity) and Qatar which might be good.

What ff affiliations have you got?

KF, Skywards, USDM, QF and Velocity but tbh I'm not that* fussed about points accumulation. I'd much prefer to choose carriers that have a flat bed J but I understand that with the short turnaround and price that this may not be entirely possible.

Went with SQ in the end. Not looking forward to the long 772 flight from Amsterdam to SIN but hopefully 3 flights in the 380 makes up for it :)

completely missed this thread :D How much did SQ charge?

nw ozmile - SQ charged $8450. Pretty happy with the price but J is pretty full on all legs. To be expected. On a slightly unrelated note does anyone know how to change the FF card details on the Manage My Booking section? Want to change it from KF to....undecided yet. Just trying to suss out if what I've paid is worth keeping in KF or may be Agean or USDM.

For a last minute that is not bad at all! Not at home with *A ff programs but: geniet van Amsterdam! (have fun in Amsterdam!)

Yeah I thought so as well. Surprisingly in all my searching zuji had some terrific prices for last minute J to Europe. If there was a direct EK flight from Mel - Dubai I would have gone with them but c'est la vie. As I said earlier pretty stoked for this to be my first time on the 380 :)

Thanks for the well wishes - will be spending more time in Rotterdam than Amsterdam (been here many times) but should be a lot of fun even though there will be work involved ;)

Unfortunately, I don't have the answer for this , but I do know it is very important, having spent an aeon waiting for misallocated SQ points to credit to Velocity. (to their credit, SQ sorted it out )(on appeal) and Velocity (on review by upper mgt)).

Search on hear and maybe FT as there is something to look for on the fields on your BP. Apparently, they may populate two fields on the BP, one being your KF number
, and the other being the FF number of the program they will be crediting the points to.

Definitely confirm with the check in staff which FF program the booking is crediting to (but be armed with the above knowledge, which I still don't fully understand as I have not seen it in practice, as my experience includes confirming with J Check in staff and still getting the points misallocated)

Let me know how you go about adding your Agean number after your have already added KF, and if in fact the points credit as desired.:?:

Good luck

(maybe you should consider moving your last question across to the KF area)
