Hi all,

I realise that I am probably going to have to call the Service Centre to complete this query, but was just wondering if anyone can give me a rough idea of how many Velocity points I would need to burn to get reward seats on both Delta and Virgin America ?

I have quite a few points and was thinking of using some of them to do the following flights in July/Aug next year -

LAX-SMF (Delta)
SMF - LAS (Delta)
LAS - LAX (Virgin America).

Just looking for a rough idea - say 1 Velocity Point is equal to xx Delta Miles (or Virgin America) - from that I could look on the websites and "hopefully" see what I would be up for before I ring the Service Centre.

As always, any help is greatly appreciated :)

Cheers,

Brooke

Depending on how many points you have, it might be better to use the points to upgrade to a higher class, especially on the long haul sectors.

How are you getting to/from the US?

Already got Reward Seats to/from Aus to LAX - Business Class on the way over, Premium Economy on the way back. Just looking to save some more $$ on internal flights - realise it's probably not the best "value", but am happy to burn some points to get from A to B :)

I'll be checking out Y & F on both DL & VX in Jan/Feb. Based on my previous experience on DL & others here, F for domestic US sectors is like J here in Australia.

See how you go with the upgrades & points & let us know how you go!
