I have the 800SC required for Gold but have only flown 1 QF flight this year. When i fly the other 3, will i get gold or silver?

Some FF programs only allow you to go up a one tier at a time.

Nope. As the OP of that thread, I can tell you that, despite actually being PS for a few days (possibly a week on QF's system) SWMBO did not receive a PS kit or QP invitation - only an SG kit. However, although I have heard others have had different experiences with this in the past, given the massive delays with getting out the NGCI bag tags, I would not necessarily expect to receive both kits if you qualify for each in rapid succession.

In your situation I imagine you were never PS according to QF, so will jump straight to SG and only receive that kit. Jumping tiers is not unusual - it's what happens when PG is awarded to a NB.

Excuse my ignorance, but I presume you've gained 800 scs on other OW and QFF partner airlines, as you've only flown QF once?

You could try calling QF and explaining that you have the required SCs, but not the sectors, and try to prove you have booked/will book the sectors required to reach gold.

You never know, you may be lucky.. Really depends on who you get on the other end of the line.

My experience in going from NB to SG after doing a YUPP run, was that I recieved the PS kit and then within the space of a week or so the SG kit arrived.

Since you already have the required SC's, you will be upgraded to SG upon posting of the 4th

flight.

There will be no PS interlude.

Sent them an email to see if i can get my card before the trip so i can test out the new checkin system. fingers crossed~

There's never been any documented success with this. QF have never comped status for someone yet-to-attain it, even if their future bookings prove it (what's to stop someone from cancelling after status was comped?) They have comped for corporate deals and the like, but not in situations like this (even where SC's are over 700 but ~'s are not).

... but if you cancel, they won't have to give you any points, SCs or ~'s in any case.

So they won't give you your well-deserved status until you have the segments behind you, regardless of how much money they make out of you in the process.
