Brisbane to Lisbon - luggage question

I am looking at booking a QF classic award in J for next October from Brisbane to Lisbon.

After having a play around with dates and routes, it appears all flights go through LHR to LIS. ( I was hoping I might get a direct flight from HK or Dubai to LIS )

When i check in at BNE will my bags be checked through to LIS or will I have to go through customs in LHR and then recheck in?

I don't know when EK releases award seats, but it might be a bit early to look at DXB-LIS for next October. A quick award search on QF website showed plenty of availability for SYD-ADL-DXB-LIS on QF and EK in May, so maybe positioning SYD or ADL would help.
Bags will be through checked without problem; QF, EK and BA have interline agreements.

Thanks defurax for your info. Never thought of going via ADL. I'll check it out.
