Brisbane to Ho Chi Minh on Jetstar

There does not seem to be a way to book a thru flight on Jetstars BNE-DRW then DRW-SGN (Saigon for Ho Chi Minh) flights. Seems the only thru flight is SYD-DRW-SGN. I have spoken to Jetstar but staff were as baffled as myself. Seems Jetstar is not making DRW-SGN flights very user friendly for passengers joining from other ports.

Does anyone have a workaround or suggest another low cost option to get to Ho Chi Minh from BNE (yes I know I coulld use Air AsiaX out of OOL but this not my preference as I have return flights booked using FF flights from Hanoi to BNE.

You could try through a TA, but most LCC’s don’t go past 1 sector for flights booked. So you might be able to get SYD-DRW-SGN but only because the route is marketed as SYD-DRW and they need to stop for whatever reason. While there is no direct route from BNE so you’d have to book 2 flights, and while you could do so, you’re less protected doing so.

It might cost a little more, but (BNE-)SYD-DRW-SGN might be the way to go. Bearing in mind the first flight would have to be a separate ticket and if there was a delay you wouldn’t be safe.

Thanks for the feedback, I checked Qantas and it only Jetsaver fares, so still cheaper to book sector fares on Jetstar; but will keep my eye on this; at least the sector is offered.

Don't like the thought of going thru SYD, adds half a day onto the trip and would rather go thru SIN in that case.

I am thinking: fly BNE-DRW the day before, having a stopover then going DRW-SGN the next day....offers some protection.

Only if there is a Qantas segment in the itinerary somewhere. If you choose an option consisting of all Jetstar segments, you will get flicked over to the Jetstar site.
