I have used this service twice - yes first time to find was pretty bad. Over 3 to 4 day stay away it is great value, the service from staff was outstanding. We came back from Hobart in J, by the time we got to the downstairs baggage - out came our bags just as we arrived (first) - 30 seconds to valet - car waiting - pay - in car. It was an amazing 5 minutes max from Jet aircraft to car. Will use every time now.

If VA still reads the forum (did someone mention VA had moved on?), how about a heads up on the points. I did check out valet parking last weekend and a 3x points award to match QF would just about sway me to give it a go..........I'm assuming this may be why QF valet is well patronised.

How have people found the best way to get into it? Via Nancy Bird Way (off Moreton Dr) or Dryandra Rd?

(Quick edit.....when I said I ckecked it out, it was a look only, not a trial)

Out of curiosity, does the SYD valet earn points?

Have you sent the DJ rep a PM :?:

No.

I'd PM if my query was specifically related to me, but I thought the issue of points award for valet parking is of interest to many of us, hence an open question. I was of the belief PMs aren't supposed to be made public, so I thought an open forum question was perhaps more fitting.

It is important to get on to Airport Drive from where ever you are coming from - the Virgin Valet goat track is off the roundabout one past the International Terminal roundabout.

There is a small sign now. You essentially drive on a restricted road "excepting virgin valet traffic". Virgin have map om their site.

I will use it from now on as it was just so damn fast regardless of points.

That roundabout you speak of is the one at the end of Dryandra Rd, so for me coming from the GC, I was thinking Moreton Dr right through to the Dryandra Rd lights, turn right (past the overheight vehicle parking) takes you straight to that roundabout.

Oops, from the DJ map, it's not the roundabout at all but Chloris St, than left into the service road, right into Hibiscus st then it's all a bit sketchy but it looks like it skirts around the old short term carpark somehow. I thought (only from memory) the old short term carpark went right up hard against the airside security apron. Or has that carpark been removed now the newie is open?

The short term car park is not up against the apron, there has always been an access road down to the gen set and valet area. It's easy to get to from either the domestic side or Intl side.

Thanks, shows each time I've used that one, my eyes must still have been shut (or brain in neutral)........the downside of flying first fight out in the mornings after a drive up from the GC.

Thanks for the feedback regarding Velocity Points earn in Brisbane and Sydney. We agree with you that it’s a great idea and we'll definitely take it on board!

Ok, +12 months on now. Time for some feedback..

I have been using this service regularly since the first week it started.. It is good, but does not currently match QF product.

What is missing,
- Ability to earn VFF Points
- The ability for them to retain your details and CC information for auto charge like QF do. The current way slows the hand over process massively..
- Premium entry

There has been talk of the above things, but nothing to date..

Good points, I can imagine the points for valet would be a very fair benefit - Though, QF doesn't offer a premium entry a la VA SYD anywhere right?

I also note VA's post no 35 where they agreed to look at FF points. That was a year ago, so they are certainly taking a long look

I wonder if BNE has the traffic to justify a premium lounge entry.

+1 for the VFF points... Its the only way I park now at the airport.

Would be a tidy little earner when flying every other week.
