Just to clarify, ASA's are not any harder to book. Its just harder to book a specific type of ASA's namely the cheap ASA's that were equivalent to a classic award anyway.

So Any Seats awards have gone up. Big deal. Airfares go up and down all the time. It is not like there was a protection order in place for Any Seat awards.

Seriously though, if they took SM last time, they would be pretty close to dropping back to silver by now, and considering how busy the lounges are now, they wouldnt dare do another SM IMHO

I took a status match ~2 years ago and dropped down to Gold after first year. I have 3 more flights in next 8 days and will requalify Virgin Gold for another year without any status runs.

My preference is still to fly Qantas. I will use Virgin where possible.
