Booking SQ's 77W and A380 P+J class using AirNZ Airpoints and other star partners

Given that rewards with KrisFlyer for the 777-300ER for P+J and A380 for J need double the points, it looks like it's impossible to use Airpoints or any other Star partner to book redemption seats on these aircraft.

Do you know if this will change?

I think people are not able to predict what the airlines will do with award rates in the future. The general principle is that if an award costs X points today the only expected change is that iit will become X+Y rather than X-Y :(

You might find that once SQ have their full complement of A380 that the premium for these seats falls (especially when competing against other similar products) but I would not hold out much hope.

Thanks...but all I'm saying is that unless you are a KrisFlyer member where you have the opportunity to book the unrestricted awards, if you want to book any premium cabin on the a380 or 77W using other star partners, basically you can't since they only offer one standard rate for star partner bookings...
 
Not totally impossible, just difficult. I've seen I class redemptions on 77W flights; these were usually booked 2-3 weeks out.
