Booking Qantas flights online overseas on AMEX

I wasn't sure if this was more appropriate in the Qantas or AMEX sections. The moderators can decide!

I just went to book a QF flight POM-BNE-POM online and of course the notification came up that the booking would be in PNG Kina. No problems. Went through the usual booking process and got to the payment section. Only two options Visa or Mastercard. No AMEX.

I am pretty certain AMEX was an option last time I booked. Anyone else have any experience with this?

Anyway went to the local Qantas office and they made the booking for me and I could pay with AMEX. Very strange.
