Hey Guys,

Just wondering if there is any issue with me booking on Qantas and setting my region to USA? I want to do this so I can do a return flight from LA-BNE, even though Im based in Brisbane. I need to do this because im pausing a round the world trip and want to come home for a while.... when I have the region set to Australia I can only set the starting cities as Australian ones.

I'm assuming that the only problem will be I'll pay a credit card charge for the foreign transaction?

The fare itself works out very cheap... about $850AU for the return ticket.

Or could I just ring up Qantas and do this over the phone?

Thanks for your help / advice

Booking on line using the USA portal is quite simple. I have done this several times when it was worthwhile.

And yes, your OZ CC will be charged in USD.

Thanks serfty - Just wanted to make sure I wasnt blind and missing something on the AU site...

The QF Singapore site is perhaps even more useful :mrgreen:

Even if it was more useful when the AU$ was US$0.90+

Happy wandering

Shouldn't be a problem using the Australian site. I recently did a test booking of Melbourne-Washington one-way then New York-Melbourne for the return leg. Although I didn't confirm it went OK to that point.

What I couldn't work out why I had to fly via LHR to get to Washington (on points). MEL-Washington direct wasn't available and yet I would have thought it would be a popular route.
