Does anyone know if it is possible to book a one way D class fare from SIN-HKG on CX? I have tried the CX website but no luck.

J is approx $2200 SGD per person.

Economy is $550 SGD per person

Both prices plus tax. $550 seems a bit steep for an economy regional flight from SIN.

thanks

I very much doubt CX would sell one-way D fares. D is usually saved for circle type fares (OneWorld Explorer, Global Explorer, Circle Pacific etc) and special discount fares. These special discount fares, when available, are generally round trip itineraries and often include restrictive terms and conditions.

www.zuji.com.sg ?

See if you can find some Singapore based travel agents that want to deal with you.

I thought I class is normally the discount class available within Asia with Cathay.

Another option might be to buy the return and throw away the return ticket (or plan to fly it in ~360 days from now)... but of course that has some serious risks that need to be accepted.

It does appear that CX have raised either their prices or the booking classes ex SIN. Your $550 fare is B class and the ++ should be about $SG57.

The BKK fare seems to have gone up about 20%. Earlier this year the SIN-BKK H class was $SG270. Typically the TA specials ex SIN and/or BKK are I class, with slightly better availability from BKK. The best specials I am aware of at the moment are ex CMB where the USA fares are D class and NRT is either I or D.

Looks like exSIN maybe moving into LCC mode :(
At least BKK is a bit more than 2 hours and HKG only 3+ from SIN

Happy wandering.

Cathay appear to have increased their airfares. My recent I class booking BKK-SIN return was around 25% dearer than previous booking so I would expect most CX booking classes to have increased.

CX often have very high prices SIN-HKG , even with very light loads (and thats also light in J). I would assume they do not want to 'cheapen' the product or happen to fill the flights to max weight with freight (and they do seem long take off runs).

Best idea is to get onto a travel agent that can ticket you on some corp type fare, difficult but could be the best bet.

Very difficult sector to get good prices.
