Could anybody tell me please ... if we book our return ANA flights to Haneda with VA flight numbers on the Virgin website, will we be able to make seat selection at time of booking? Thanks.

You can’t select seats when you book but the website states that nearly all fare types come with free seat selection so you would have to get the NH PNR and select through them I’m guessing

Thanks for the reply. Could you explain this in more detail please? Humour my ignorance. Thanks!

Not sure about the VA codeshares but on ANA if you book a super saver ticket you can only select middle seats in the first few rows (if there are two economy cabin this extends to the whole forward economy cabin) window and aisle seats are for sale.

In the aft cabin usually all seats except exit rows are available for free so it fills up quickly. During check in you can try to select a seat more towards the front as they all open up (even EER).

You book first with Virgin skipping seat selection and when you receive the confirmation it will have two airline reference numbers. One is Virgin's and the other one is the airline you fly with.

Go to the operating airline's website and manage the booking using their reference (not the Virgin one). You should then be able to select seating. If you can't then call Velocity/Virgin.
