I'm having awful trouble paying the taxes on a AA award (Syd-Mel). I call the AA ofice in the US and they have no problem taking my booking, but i can't finalise as they can't accept a Australian Amex.

Anyone know of a work around for this?

thanks in advance

As far as I know, the India AA office has to handle the paying of taxes. There have been a few posts here and on FT about people paying their award taxes...

I remember a post a long time ago about AA Elites being allowed to pay their taxes via the U.S call centre, rather than the Indian Call Centre and that it was AA policy to accept their credit cards - even though they were in Australia.

Does that make sense to anyone, and can anyone clarify what the restrictions are?

In the aadvantage sticky I think there are links explaining how to pay fees and AA flights. The normal way is to call IndiAA and pay over the phone - assuming less than $1000. If over that you need to call IndiAA and get them to send you a form which you fax to them.

The other way is to put in that you have a UK address when making the payment and use your CC online - that is again explained more in the sticky.

No time to search now - sorting Xmas tree.
