Bonus Velocity Status Credits for VA flights - Book & fly between 12 January and 31 March 2026

Hmm. I went out of my way to do the 6 flights in order to retain Platinum. My review date is 2 May. I guess that if the bonus status credits don't credit by then, I'll be downgrading to Gold.

Great promo, Velocity...

You can expect the bonus status credits to be awarded around mid-May, 6 weeks after the promotion ended.

Fly 2 flights = 45 bonus Status Credits

Fly 3 flights = 65 bonus Status Credits

Fly 4 flights = 85 bonus Status Credits

Fly 5 flights = 105 bonus Status Credits

Fly 6+ flights = 125 bonus Status Credits

I think I did four flights but maybe six. So I'll still need about 75 SCs by July to requalify. Should make it easily I think. As for next year, not much chance.

Ordinarily you might be OK because the activity date of the status credits relates to the date of travel.

But if its anything like last year...the promo ended 31 March...the status credits posted mid-April...and that was what was listed as their activity date. That is pretty unusual...if anything I'd have expected the activity date to to be 31 March.

Yep. And it’s now well past mid April, too. Sigh.

I don’t think I’ll bother participating in this promo next year.

Still waiting.... Meanwhile, I wish they'd run a DSC promo!
2 more weeks and you should see them.
They did a DSC via Virgin Australia Holidays recently, which is even better generally, as the status is based on the old distance earn rate, as Matt G has pointed out on here (must be booked with a hotel).
I grabbed a couple of those as they could be booked up until 16th December.
But yes, it would be nice to see one without the hotels, as that's obviously not for everyone.

Why does it take 6 weeks to credit these? Velocity already knows who is eligible for what as they've credited 10 points for each qualifying flight.
That's the question we're all asking.

Last year with the equivalent promotion the Status Credits came through in 12 days.

This promotion is all "in house" with Virgin and Velocity -- it involves people taking VA flights, on VA metal, using VA's FF programme.

As we've seen from the posts above over the past few weeks: by taking so long, Velocity is losing some of the goodwill that the promotion was meant to build up.

i've been sadly opening the app every morning as soon as i wake up praying hard it'll come thru. I wonder if i manage to bank these in the period between my "review date" and "card expiry date", they will show some leniency.

I agree, it's absolutely ridiculous!
Whilst it does state this in their terms "up to 6 weeks" I've been reliably told it will be 6 weeks after the promo ended. I really think that's unacceptable and haven't heard a valid reason for it.
Hopefully someone pulls their finger out and processes them now. Just stupid as it deters passengers wanting to participate in the future. As you've pointed out.

The time frame variance is always going benefit some and not others though. In my case as late as possible but before 17 May is ideal timing for me. Gives me the longest time frame to retain Plat as it resets my anniversary year (first time moving from gold to plat). But I get the frustration.
