Did a dummy BOGO booking for CP Auckland Nov1-3, came up with 0 (thats zero) points earned for the stay, is this the new norm for PP bookings now ????

Dont know whats up with NZ. I did a fully flexible booking for August at Holiday Inn Auckland airport and it came up with 0 points to be earned. Sent email to both the Hotel and PC but recieved no reply at all. Ended up canceling the booking and rebooking with Accor at the airport

Weird, I think I will do the same, maybe wait for an Accor sale to come up.

Have stayed at the Accor (Novotel) at the airport a number of times in the past and have not been able to fault it. Usual rack rate is around NZ$230 and this doesnt alter much. Have had early check-ins in the morning provided FOC. If staying there catch the bus into auckland city is ok but takes about half hour and is quite a long trip but bus terminates at the bottom of Queen st and a 2-3 minute walk to Viaduct harbour with nice cafe's and restaurants. On walf there just past ferry wharfs is the Providores hotel. Great little "locals" bar, not too many tourists and they have a great happy hour. certainly makes back the cost of the transit bus.

Ok thanks, we have been invited to a 40th party near the viaduct so will probably stay in the city, the BOGO rate at the CP was around $104 NZD which is pretty good, even with no points.....

The Sebel viaduct was also an option, more exe, we don't get to AKL until about 8.30pm which is a pain, but what can you do .....

If your party is around the Viaduct area it would be nice to stay down that way. I've stayed in the area quite a bit and found the CP is a lengthy uphill walk and takes about 10-15 mins to walk or about $15 in a taxi. On the Accor side of things I havent stayed at the Sebel (dont think they will give Accor points either...check) but have stayed a number of times at the Sofitel Auck Viaduct Harbour and It is a great spot. Will give a late check-out if you want one (check out the free platinum membership for this). Also stayed at the Hilton quite a bit but have lost faith in them as they are way up-there in the price plus not that attractive to walk there late at night.

I found the opposite ...

My four-night stay at IC Wellington gave me 4 'qualifying nights' ... even though I only paid for one night night - used three vouchers !!

Can't recall how many PCR points, but I'll check and update this response.

BOGOs are qualifying so wont be an issue if booked now, they may change in the future but should still honour the terms and conditions in place at the time.

I have always had points from BOGO in Aust, but this would be first BOGO in NZ.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Checked my account records ...

Apparently, I got 9,000 points, followed by a 'Good will Adjustment' of 5,000 points a few days later ( can't recall what that was for )

So, paid for one night, used three vouchers, got a total of 14,000 points + 4 'qualifying nights' ( to count toward AMB Accel. )

However, that was as an RA at the time ( double points for the Qual. night + think I may have had only promo in place )

No differentiation in countries re earning rules, Asia Pac covers both.

I would have thought that, just was a surprise to see zero on the booking, anyway think we are going to stay at CP Auck at the end of the day, the rate was too good to not stay.

I do recall getting points from CP Christchurch a few years back on a BOGO come to think of it.....
