Hello,

I am in desperate need for a cheap flight for 2 people for BNE-YYZ on December 18 2011 and returning on January 15 2012.

If anybody is able to give me some tips or helpful information it would be most greatly appreciated. I realize this may be peak time for travel but it is important that I get a flight during this time.

Thank you in advance!

Try checking Air Korea - I'm not sure if they can do those exact dates, but their fares are often substantially cheaper than Air Canada (and you can break the trip in Seoul). Similarly, you could consider flying JAL to Chicago (breaking the trip in Tokyo), then catching a connecting flight to Toronto. I actually prefer a free hotel bed half way rather than attempting to sleep in Y.
Both carriers should cost ~ $3 - 3.5 K around that time of year (vs ~ $4K for AC).
You could do Qantas for ~ $3.5 K, but you'll have to put up with the looong transpacific flight and transit through US customs, which can be very unpleasant, esp LAX. Air Korea has the advantage of completely bypassing the USA.

Thank you very much for the info. I am flexible on the dates but $3-3.5K is out of my price range. The prices seem to be very high this year.

Thanks for that. Does anybody reckon it would be possible to get something for $1500/person in total?? I definitely do not mind splitting up the trip.

Sadly, it's a tough gig to get $1500 return fares ex Oz at that time of year.

Are you prepared to split travel over several days.

No, not at that time of year.
There are multiple online travel agents (Zuji, expedia, Skyscanner etc) that should be able to guide you in trying to find your flights. Although you may not book on these websites, it will help you do your research if you did decide to go to a travel agent, or if you then go and use the airlines websites direct.

I am very prepared to split travel if that means getting closer to $1500. Any help is extremely appreciated.

Hello,

Sorry to resurrect this threat. Is there any body that can help me find a better price for this flight??

Any help would be so immensely appreciated.

Sorry... I just don't think $1500 is doable at that time of year..

I fly to YYZ regularly, and unfortunately - it's a premium route, therefore everyone charges premium prices.

If you have any miles in a program, an award seat is the only way of getting a good value fare across at short notice.

Unless AC are running a special at the time (and not on short notice) there's not a chance of getting something in the range you're looking at.

My advice would be to take the cheapest fare available to LAX, and then as a separate fare take the cheapest from LAX-YYZ.

You may find this is significantly cheaper than any fare that is though-ticketed to YYZ.

YMMV.
