BNE - HER October this year

This is an urgent one. I have procrastinated and now my flight options are running out. I wan to book something pretty soon.

I need to get to Heraklian by 28 October 2012. I am DJ Gold, no star alliance memberships.

I don't think I can afford Business class airfares

1 traveller only.

Coming back, I would like to visit family in Jersey, they suggested Gatwick to be the best destination to fly into , any suggestions for HER-Gatwick-BNE for the return trip ?

On the expedia website you can get the flights to HER and back from LGW for AUD1994 and the HER to LHR at AUD265 so total AUD2259

That not a bad price. Virgin have a coupe of premium promos left one way BNE-ATHEN Premium econo BNE-ABUDABI econ ABUDABI-ATH for $1700 - you think it is worth it?

Personally I would always go for higher cabin

Makes your BNE-SYD-AUH-ATH-AUH-SYD-BNE AUD3086

Problem is that the flights from ATH to HER don't really connect very well either way. You would have to look at staying another night in ATH before flying back to BNE. Cost between 600-700 for the flights and then + hotel in Athens.

OK, I pulled the trigger on the BNE-SYD-AUHH-ATH on VA Premium economy BNE-AUH.

Now all I have to do is work out the best way home. I can will be somewhere near London, so maybe ex heathrow, any tips on finding a good route on the return flight home?

expedia.ie is usually a good place to look. a OW London to BNE can be had for EUR776 on MH or EUR901 on QF

Depending on exchange rates used the expedia.ie website is about EUR16 cheaper than the qantas.co.uk site. Also if I am not mistaken (knowing my memory quite possible to be wrong ) those two websites do not charge a credit card fee which the QF website does.
