BNE - EBB F Chart says 100,000 - Agent says 120,000

Just put a flight on QF and Qatar on hold for BNE to EBB via MEL and DOH.

The award chart says 100000 points and the agent says 120000.

Any advice on whats correct?Ive booked several flights to other laocations and the charts always been good info.

The routing you describe is transiting via a third region (ME). So it should be priced as two awards. I still dunno how they get to 120?

Unless they haven't given you the class of service you wanted. This is a common reason for misquotes in prices. Is the booking on hold?

yes it is on hold maybe i should try another for differant dates and see what comes out of it

The reason for checking on hold was to see it was in the right class of service. Otherwise seems like you might have a good deal at 120K?

Got it sorted. It is two awards, BNE to MEL 20000 MEL to EBB 100000

It may be new. I had the ticket on hold but when i called i priced a new award and got the breakdown of points explained.
Of course if QF released some seats to JNB occassionally this wouldnt have been a problem

I was under the impression DOH (on QR) was the only transit OZ>ME>Africa you could do on one AA award (and therefore not new). Otherwise known as the "Doha exception" on some forums, or maybe I misunderstood.

It is known as the Doha exception, but it only applicable to certain routes... Europe to South Pacific, Asia 1 and Asia 2; Africa to Asia 1&2, South America to Asia 1&2.

so you can't fly USA to Africa under the doh exception for example (or South Pacific to Africa... in theory at least)
