BNE-DXB-MAN / MAL-DXB-BNE EK or QF flights?

I'm planning a 2019 summer European trip and trying to decipher the various rules of QF/EK. It's likely that EK metal will be the best choice for this open jaw tix, now I need to understand if I should purchase it as a QF or EK tix.

As a QF Gold, is there any difference between how I get this ticketed? Usually the QF option is about $100 more than the EK fare.

Lounge access? I'll be travelling with Mrs Albatross
QF points & SC?

Any experience on this one?

QF flight number earns as if it is a QF flight, EK is points only.

As a Gold you would definitely want to book the QF flight numbers to earn more SC and points. If you only get EK you'll just get points and no SC(but your status would be honoured by EK for lounge access etc).
