Hi Guys, just trying to pre-plan seat selection for upcoming trip to Bali in mid Feb. Am VA Plat travelling with Mrs Smithym and 3 kidlets (7, 5, 18months). Was thinking of selecting my usual row 3 due to the extra leg room etc. I'm just not sure if the International Short-haul layout is the same as domestic?? Has anyone had any success in getting a seat blocked out as there will be the 5 of us travelling and 6 seats in the row??

Also what is the set up with the IFE system on this flight??

Same aircraft config as domestic, row 3 great for legroom, although will need to use the rear toilets.
Unless you are on vh yid ( at this stage only aircraft with streaming movies & video to your own device) there will be no ife.
Highly recommended to bring your own fully charged laptop/ ipad for the 6 hr flight.
Based on your 5 person group , quite likely that you will get a blocked seat, though those dps flights can have very full loads.

I believe international short-haul is on the 737's so the layout is the same as domestically, but i don't think all the planes have the new VA styles seats and business class. Either way - new or old layout - Row 3 should be an extra legroom row.

I have no idea if they will let you have the entire Row 3 as a platinum, given that 4 passengers in your group presumably have no status. However, there could be a good chance of you getting an entire row with a blocked seat further towards the back of the plane.

As for IFE, i think its only the Digi-players of Galaxy tablets, which have to be purchased.
