Garuda has (yet again) changed its frequent flyer program - this time to reintroduce tier frequencies for status tiers, which is a good change. This could help those looking for SkyTeam Elite / Elite Plus status.
The website is (of course) still showing the old frequencies, but since September last year, social media and in the FlyGaruda app, the updated requirements have been somewhat promoted.
It's a mixed bag - easier for some, harder for others. It's always good to have frequencies back. In the past, some Y-class fares would equal 3 tier frequencies, but I haven't been able to find the info on that for these changes - upon booking it only shows Tier Miles, not Tier Frequencies. If that were still the case, it would be a huge incentive for those looking for SkyTeam Elite Plus to fly with Garuda.
I've tried to make the table easy to understand, because there is a complete lack of information on the website.

GarudaMiles Gold Privilege
GarudaMiles Gold Privilege has also been revamped to include three tiers - Gold Privilege (USD 399/year), Gold Privilege Plus (USD 720/year) and Gold Privilege Extra (USD 1198/year). All are equivalent to SkyTeam Elite, and provide lounge access in CGK and DPS only.
