Bidding for an upgrade with EVA

I have never bid for an upgrade before, so I would like to ask what amount would be reasonable for upgrading from Economy to Premium Economy.

Because of the war in the Middle East, I had to cancel my Qatar Airways J-class flight. Since the trip became urgent, I had to quickly purchase an Economy ticket with EVA Air (BKK–VIE).

I’m not sure there’s been much discussion on bid for upgrades here on AFF. And there’s not much out there on the internet either.

From what I can gather there’ll be a range in which you can place a bid. You’ll have to decide the point at which you’re willing to go in. Flights are pretty full at the moment where they avoid the ME, so it could be expensive.

For an idea of the price range, look at the current difference between your ticket price and the asking price for premium economy.
