ONLY luck ensured a freak incident at Brisbane Airport’s car park has claimed no lives.

A part of the domestic terminal’s elevated P2 car park collapsed about 4:30pm Thursday, sending a huge slab of concrete down on to an exit ramp at ground level.

Brisbane Airport Corporation confirmed no injuries or damage to property resulted from the incident.

A shocked woman, who had driven down the ramp moments before the concrete came crashing down, told The Courier-Mail two vehicles could easily have been hit.

This should not be happening in Australia. Not with the high cost for labour and materials.
