Best Travel scheme - Colombo

Hi,

I'm planning on booking a return flight to Colombo for a family member who doesn't live with me. I'm currently a silver velocity member and would like to redeem as much as possible with VA.

I currently provided her with an Amex platinum edge supplmentary card to book the flights. However I want to maximize my points redemption for her return trip to Colombo.
I have Krisflyer and Etihad (VA partners). Is it possible to book a return flight with SG/Etihad and redeem those points to VA, it would be paid for with her supplementary amex cc, however can I make that booking under my Krisflyer/Etihad account and transfer those points to VA? Thanks.

As far as I know if you want velocity points, you'll have to use the passenger's velocity account number when you book. You shouldn't uses your kris flyer account or you'll get kf points. Once the flight is done, you can do a family transfer to your velocity account (assuming your family member meets the"family" requirement). You can't transfer kf or ek points to VA.
