Quick question, I have managed to grab 38G (front Y mini-cabin) on Monday's QF5 to SIN in the old config B744, does this have the cutout in the bulkhead for extra legroom? I am 5'10 so may not be an issue if not.
It is also a bassinet seat so I guess I may be bumped from the seat if the bassinet is required? I am hoping it wont be required as the load looks pretty light (according to Flight Stats anyway).
Otherwise I will retreat to row 71 or 72 and hope for an empty seat next to me.
Thanks for any insight, I haven't flown on the B744's for a long time! I miss the multiple good A380 seat options in Y (80 A/K, 71D, upstairs Y cabin etc) on these flights!! :(
cheers

Well, I can report that row 38 on these B744s does have the cutout in the bulkhead. I ended up with 38C with 38B vacant (pretty light load in Y).
Great seat, I'll be sure to try to grab that on the way home :)

Row 29 by comparison which is PE does not have cut outs and has quite restricted legroom.

On the old config 3 class 29A/B have extremely limited leg room (due to a closet in front).

As a complete contrast 29J/K across the cabin are great seats.

I thought they had the cutout and thanks for confirming bertflyer. I had 38C pre-allocated last week for QF6 SIN-SYD but received an upgrade to premium economy.

I was in 30A and the leg room was quite OK.

What was surprising was the IFE is in the armrest and I was able to use it throughout the flight even when the person in front was reclined.

30A would have about 40cm more foot room than 29A. (FWIW, 30A would have about 30cm less than 29K.)
So I was lucky not to have been allocated bulkhead.

It is a lottery with these op-ups to premium economy and to be honest without sounding ungrateful I would rather have my originally allocated seat in economy at certain times than the upgrade to premium economy.
