The whole of Hawaii!

In order to make a decision though, you'd need to consider how much money you are will in to spend, how many people are travelling, whether you would like to be in a CBD or rural area etc.

For most people, especially on their first visit to Hawaii, staying in Honolulu will be sufficient.

We are in HNL at the moment, 3rd year in a row, and love Waikiki with its many dining options and of course the mandatory shopping for SWMBO. Great fashion options and there is the sun, sand and sightseeing to do, the relaxation and coughtails do it for us. Wait for specials on accommodation and flights and it is more affordable.
PM me if you would like more info.

Everyone is different, but we feel that a few days in Waikiki is plenty. It's very touristy and the realy Hawaii is the countryside or the islands. We love the Big Island and Kauai. Losts to see and do but it does require extra flights.

We are traveling there in April. As a destination, what is the city of Hilo on the big island like. I am looking at accommodation in Hilo itself or is it better outside of the city?

irv, I like the place your going to. Will consult with family, and get more info. May be in the running.
