Planning a trip this year which is BOM-CPH-YYC.

Having alot of trouble getting award availability mid to late Aug on anything into Calgary (YYC) or even Vancouver being Bronze - AFAIK, there are direct oneworld flights from LHR, ORD or DFW. With that in mind, will have to pay for a ticket into Canada and just book an award T/A flight but that brings me to my question...

Has anyone flown Iberia, BA and AA and can offer an idea of which has the best economy service? AA had heaps of leg room on their 757s but no IFE, miserable meals and lots of loud seppos when I flew them last but not sure what their transatlantic service is like. Haven't flown BA for ages and never on Iberia.

I'm tossing up an A340-600 Madrid - JFK; a 777 LHR - ORD on AA, a 767 CDG - JFK or any of the transatlantic BA flights but I think they require more points to redeem.

Any thoughts? Not really in a hurry as I'd be spending a few days in either Chicago or NYC before my next flight and all the connections from CPH are overnight in London, Paris and Madrid either way.

Finally, is there anyway to get Finnair availability online for awards? They service BOM-CPH alongside BA. I'd have to go through Qantas Telephone to book?

If Finnair is available on points then it should be available online; it is possible that August is part of the summer season as its only 4 months away so there may not be much available.

I found Finnair service ok when I flew them in 2008.

BA transatlantic is generally ok; a main meal soon after take off then a snack before arrival into the US. Each seat on BA has a IFE so something to watch.

We flew JFK-LHR on the 744 with BA last Spetember. Quite comfortable (we were in the mini-cabin immediately behind the Y+ seating). Food ok without being great. Meal after takeoff (breakfast) then snack prior to arrival. Seats were ok (for Y - we'd just done BNE-LAX-JFK in J so considering that was ok really).

Would happily fly BA transatlantic again.
