I am a Plat FF that has already renewed for 2010 with 1560 SC's in the account YTD and more to come before the review date at the end of the year.
I need to visit Germany at short notice and want to take advantage of any non QF special J offers that may be out there.I can land anywhere in Europe.
Any suggestions?

There are some good Finnair and Swiss deals around for J to Europe return - mostly under $7k inc taxes. Don't know much about Finnair's hard product, and Swiss is a bit hit and miss - flying via NRT is the only way to guarantee a decent seat.

The use QF on the AUS-Asia legs so you can earn a few extra SCs and get a good seat allocation for that leg, at any rate.

Best Flights are advertising a BA fare in J with a free upgrade to F in 1 direction from $8449 incl taxes. I don't have the requsite 10 posts and so the site won't let me post the direct web link :(

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

LH had a sale on recently (not sure if it's finished yet).

Finnair A340s are the flights you should aim for!

Thank you all for your input,Most appreciated.
My ticket has just been issued.....and the lucky winner (sic) is
QANTAS .
The Qantas fare at qantas.com (J) was 13.6K return whilst Singapore were nearly half of that.
I spoke to Q Premium who said (and did) price match the Singapore fare (I)
Very pleased ...apparently they will price match in Premium cabins for certain competitors only (Singapore and Emirates I believe):)

That's an awesome outcome for you superchris. Didn't know QF were that desperate to match Business fares (particularly to discount I fares).

Thanks Lindsay.
They did point out:
1) Not something they advertise
2) Got it because identified as Premium customer
3) They checked my singaporeair.com fare claims

In the end they had no problems with the price match and I get points/SC's and FLOUNGE!!
Guess they didn't want me back over on the dark side.

Awesome stuff Chris! ^ Will try that when I finally achieve WP... I wonder if they'd price match the ultra cheapo JAL fares to Europe - will be one happy bunny if they do seeing that the JAL fares are really dirt cheap! I know it's the same alliance but surely they'd still want to keep pax on their own planes.

The other very cheap option (only for a little bit longer) is to travel MEL-LHR via HKG and book W but get a skybed.
