Best CC for UNLIMITED points?

Hi guys

We want a CC (business or personal) with unlimited points redeeming. Spending is upwards of $50k per month.

Velocity (preferred) or Qantas points are really, really important - but like to have options for other stuff too.

Any suggestions?

Amex will be your best bet now. They have heaps of choice. For non Amex, look for cards with the highest threshold before points capping. Citi's new Qantas card or virgin money Velocity high flyer card (also issued by Citi) may be worth looking at as non Amex options assuming you can easily put 80%+ of your monthly spend on Amex.

As stated above, AMEX is going to be your best option if your suppliers accept it.

The Amex Velocity Platinum card earns a flat 1.5pts per dollar spent and is uncapped. It currently has 100k point signon bonus which is handy - you can grab a referral link for the card from fellow AFF members in the Referrals sub-forum.

On the MC / VISA front things aren't as simple. There are a few cards that offer 1:1 earn rates, but they are all capped (that I know of). The ANZ rewards black has an effective Velocity earn rate of 1:1, but is capped at $5000k a month. The Coles rewards MC earns 2 flybuys pts / $ which is the equivalent of 0.87:1 Velocity points / $. If you combine that with the regular 15% transfer bonuses between flybuys and Velocity you can make it 1.0005:1. Again you'd need to be aware of the annual maximum transfer limit of 138,000 flybuys points, equivalent to 60,030 Velocity pts.

If you're not already doing so - under the new world order - it makes a lot of sense to switch as much of your spend across to AMEX as you can!!
