Going to Hawaii and West Coast US for 28 days in December. On previous trips to the US have ordered an AT&T prepaid SIM from Simcorner in Australia for myself and the missus which has worked well.

Now Belong have the $30 for 3B/15 Days international roaming there is more choice - about the same price ($60 vs ~$50), although less data (will only really need data outside of hotel for google maps etc and can use either phone). On the other hand we get to keep our local number to be contactable / SMS. Won't be making many calls.

Anyone had some recent experience in the US and pros/cons? Are there any restrictions e.g. tethering via hotspot?

Thanks!

Currently in the US (via Canada) and have been using the freebie Flexiroam eSIM (data only 15d/3GB). Apart from inside Yellowstone NP, it’s worked very well - including 5G a lot of the time. In the US, it uses the AT&T network.

SYD+1 has just moved over to a Truphone eSIM for the remainder of the trip US$13 for 30d/2GB (US/CA). Also seems to be working well on T-Mobile network.
