Bankwest Transaction account [General Discussion]

Seems like a credit card with Bankwest might as a few people have reported that they account was not cancelled even though their family members were.
 
I have a credit card with bankwest and that didn't stop my account being closed. Granted I only used it for non AUD purchases and had 3 cards doing 150 transactions a day.
 
Got my points posted today aswell, should not have stopped my macros when I received the letter! Thought there was no chance, but good to see the last batch come through nonetheless.

Thanks for the memories Bankwest. All my friends look at me like I'm crazy and laugh when I talk to them about my 1c payments to earn FF points.

All accounts which received closure letters can still be accessed through internet banking, despite 5th September closure dates... perhaps they'll pull the plug by days end.

My account has still received no letter though... anyone else still yet to receive one?

Bugger, I'm a bit late to take advantage of this one.. What was I thinking . Have BW plat mc and just dumped in a decent amount to get the earn on daily balance. Was considering having a shot at some extras but probably not worth it now.
 
Received QFF points today for 3 accounts, despite none of the 3 accounts producing a statement showing the points and 2 accounts being closed August 25 (remember, when the account is closed, BW don't pay points in the last month, according to the T&C's).

Now I'm annoyed that I stopped payments when the letters were received, because I assumed those T&C's would apply.

Also, a bit weird that the account due for closure today is still open.

Woot, received 11k points today notwithstanding the cancellation of my account. Thanks for the bonus Bankwest.
 
No letters received as yet.

Interestingly I did receive a call from the fraud detection department seeing if I had an account with Telstra as they detected the multiple small payments.

No problem when I said I did have a Telstra account.

I don't suspect this will last much longer.

It has been fun while it lasted.

The last statement issued for this account shows points for transactions (that were paid to the QFF account) AND an adjustment, which deducts the same number of points, so the total points earned for the month is zero.

I've transferred all the QFF points from this account to another account, to hopefully prevent BW trying to claim them back.

My problem is, that I can't do this for the other two closed accounts that both earned more points for August.

Any suggestions?

A similar thing is on two of our closed accounts, except because the August points were on the last statement, this one just shows "Qantas points credited to Frequent Flyer account" as ~ MINUS 6500!

Can BW really pull them back from QF?

If I were to family transfer them, surely there's still a pretty obvious paper trail if QF wanted to act with BW.
 
Thanks to BW for a bit of fun while it lasted. Only got my ticket to the party late, but had fun nonetheless.
Would be interesting to see a roll call of how many points we all accumulated and how many of us are still going???
