Hi,
We are travelling to Israel with an elderly friend.
We are on the same flights apart from our initial trip to Bangkok - from which we catch our connecting flight.
We are concerned for our elderly friend who isn't really up to lugging around her hand luggage across the airport to get to the departures area.

We are therefore wondering if some of you fellow travellers know:
- if there are eateries conveniently located near the arrival gates where she could wait for us to arrive (without having to exit through the customs gates first)
- if not, can you suggest a convenient and easy to find location in the arrivals area, from which we can go together to the departure gates for our connecting flight?

Welcome to AFF enoch.

There are only duty free stores airside in arrivals.

Once you exit arrivals landside go down one level and there are a number of eateries. There are also chairs where you can sit and wait.

As JohnK says, arrivals is big and empty. It's just walking, walking, walking (if you arrive at a distant gate) and then frequently joining a slow moving queue for the privilege of being able to get into another, shorter, slow moving queue. Then there is plenty airside.

On the plus, you'll find Asian airlines/airports take good care of the elderly and will probably provide a wheelchair (regardless of need) and priority escort through the queue if you ask the right person. Maybe an email or call is in order?

One thing I forgot to note is you can pay ~700 baht (~AYD25) for express arrivals. They use a golf buggy and can pick up from gate and take you through immigration/customs. Once landside it is easy to go down one level using the escalators.
