I am looking for a flight Sydney to Bali return, go over late January, come back early February.
From what I have found so far it looks as though it is cheaper to go to Singas with Singapore Airlines and then on to Bali, rather than do the Jetstar/Virgin thing.
Of course the trip is going to be longer, but having never travelled with Jetstar and Virgin on international flights I am wondering if the service on both carriers is similar to their the domestic thing.
Further to this I did look at paying extra for the coporate fair and the extra leg room optioon, which comes in just under 2,000 dollars, and the Singapore airlines fare of 1,300 dollars.
Am I missing something here?
Any input, advice would be appreciated thanks fellow travellers.

Cheers,
Mike

Garuda in J ( Business) shows $1600 return fare late January on a search at Expedia.com.au

Otherwise, You can fly Garuda direct in Economy for $992 or Virgin with one stop on the way home for $882 .

For a 6 hour flight, I don't think it would bother me too much to fly Garuda and save the stop over, which adds an extra 3 hours to the flight.

I have travelled often to Bali from SYD. Mind you I have not for the last five years but about to start again with regular flights.

We have used GA - since AN went to God, and found GA to be great.

While I know they might have a history of issues, I have always found their customer service to be great.

Yes we normally pay the premium to fly in the J cabin, its a good product and not expensive. $450 extra on a holiday package, or about $1680 including taxes.

Just a pointer - they have introduced A330-200 service to Jakarta out of SYD - and these have flat sleeper seats in J. Might be worthwhile taking the option DPS -JKT - SYD for the same price and get the flat Sleeper seat.

Thanks for the advice. The flight I am chasing are for my daughter to meet me in Bali, and her reply to my offer of Garuda was "Dad you won't fly Garuda" so that says it all.
Cheers,
Mike
