During the last stop of my holiday last month, I got an extra suitcase in Tokyo in order to get stuff home.
When I got to Sydney, one bag came out at the end (when it should have been near the start with my status and the F tag on the bags).
Only 1 bag came out. The 2nd was missing. I spoke to the baggage services agent, who was confused because both bags were loaded in the same container in Hong Kong. After they got no reply on the radio from downstairs, the missing baggage paperwork was completed and I headed through customs and off to QFd.
On the transfer bus, I got a phone call saying they had found the bag and asking if I was still in Sydney.
They rushed the bag across and it made my connection to CBR.
My parents just got home from their trip this morning, minus their bags.
They got off their cruise in Bergen, then flew to Heathrow via Newcastle. In Bergen, they were told they needed to collect bags in London. When they boarded the NCL-LHR flight, the agent asked if they had bags because they didn't have them. When they replied that they had been told they didn't need to collect the bags until they got to LHR, the agent started making phone calls.
The bags are now sitting at LHR (according to their airtag), and they have no missing baggage paperwork/reference number (despite talking to people in NCL and LHR about it).
Loganair BGO-NCL
BA NCL-LHR-SIN-SYD
Baggage tags were BGO-NCL-LHR
The only thing I could suggest was to contact BA about it.
