baggage allowance in international short haul

If I book a saver lite fare MEL-AKL, do I as a Velocity Gold member, get free baggage allowance or is carry on only?
And do I get Koru Club access in MEL and AKL? Flying VA on the way over and Air NZ on the way back.

If you have a VA flight number (i.e. booked through VA) then yes you will get your Gold allowance on both carriers. I'm guessing this is your situation?

If you booked through NZ, (i.e. NZ flight number) then no.

Yes, that's right. Booked with VA and a VA on the booking, despite being ANZ metal on the way home.
