Bad travel advice

I only got halfway through that list before I gave up. What rubbish.

Love the self-serving:

10. Don't bother with a guide, you can find whatever information you need online

Hmmm....good advice in an online article

More importantly, there’s a heartening trust that comes with reading travel advice from a consistent, vetted source, proofed by a meticulous editor, and gathered by a savvy author who was on that trip specifically to collect that information

They must be talking about our trips reports.

Yeah, I thought that was a little self serving. Whilst I know there is no shortage of bad advice online, there is also certainly some very good advice online. Furthermore the advice online is likely to be more up to date than any guidebook, which by it's very nature is out of date from the moment they start printing it. (needing to go via editor's, get published, get distributed into book stores etc...)
