I am looking for any experience of difference in the standard of PE between BA 747's and 777's?

Also, with regards to BA 747's, is there any difference in the PE cabin between the old and new fitouts or is this only relevant to J and F class?

Thanks in advance for any tips/feedback.

Regards,
Geordieladinoz

What route you travelling on? A friend of mine did AUH to LHR in PE and said it was the biggest waste of money she could have spent. Same meal as Economy, seat width not too bad, however if you are taller the leg rest isn't really usable. Only plus was that it was just behind F so they got out quicker.

It would be SIN-LHR. Looking at a few options for relatives travelling out for our wedding in June/July who are looking to visit SIN. I'm enforcing a OW restriction for family transfer of points via QFF.

Thanks Mella!

Book BA15/16 as it's the 77W which is on its way to or from SYD. They have newer cabins with a redesigned PE.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Congrats on the upcoming wedding! Good advice from Elbarto

I've just done BA15/16 in Y+ with BA, in the old 747. It was OK but not brill. I felt that it was getting pretty battered and tired -- the tray table sagged, the light didn't work etc etc. The food was overall OK but not much better than economy except for a truly magnificent steak between LHR and SIN, which was one of themost delicious steaks I have ever had!

Unlike QF, I didn't think that Y+ afforded any particular better treatment on the ground. For eg, BA15 was subject to a 24 hour delay owing to a mechanical problem. The Y+ pax were thrown in with the Y pax, given lowest priority for allocating hotels and were put up in some horrific joint out of LHR. The J pax were in the Hilton. Oneworld Emerald cut no ice either in this circumstance although allowed somewhat grudging access to the First Lounge at LHR T3.

QF beats BA's Y+ hands down -- but at a price premium of course!
